Design and Features

1. Funnel Shape

   The defining feature of the Tornado water slide is its large, funnel-shaped section. Riders enter this section at high speeds, and the shape causes them to oscillate back and forth, creating a sensation of zero gravity.

2. Raft and Tubes

   Riders typically use multi-person rafts, allowing groups of friends or family members to enjoy the experience together. These rafts can accommodate 2 to 4 people, depending on the specific design of the slide.

3. Starting Platform

   The slide usually starts from a high platform. Riders board their rafts and are launched into the enclosed tunnel, where they pick up speed before entering the funnel.

4. Enclosed Tunnels

   The initial part of the slide often includes enclosed tunnels, which add to the sense of speed and anticipation before reaching the open funnel section.

5. Splash Pool or Exit

   After oscillating in the funnel, riders exit through a chute at the bottom, leading them to a splash pool or a deceleration run-out area.

Ride Experience

1. Initial Descent

   The ride begins with a steep drop that quickly accelerates the raft, creating an adrenaline rush as riders plummet into the enclosed tunnel.

2. Entering the Funnel

   As the raft emerges from the tunnel, it enters the funnel section at high speed. The shape of the funnel causes the raft to climb up the sides and then oscillate back and forth.

3. Oscillation

   The raft moves up and down the walls of the funnel, giving riders a sensation of weightlessness and intense G-forces. This part of the ride is visually and physically thrilling, with water spraying and the open sky above.

4. Exit and Splashdown

   Eventually, the raft settles down and exits through a chute at the bottom of the funnel. Riders are then propelled into a splash pool or a run-out area where the ride comes to a gentle stop.
